A bioindividual approach to losing weight.

We are bombarded with how and what we should look like and how much we should weigh. And it is not just a problem for woman, men deal with it as well. Magazines, movie stars, and often times our own mothers and fathers tell us what and who we should look like and be in both subtle and not so subtle ways.  All this has set our nation, communities and individuals on a quest for…..well, an ideal that doesn’t exist. Diet pills, the next “it” diet that convinces us that you can lose 10 pounds in a week or have that bikini body now are making millions of dollars off the next “perfect” diet plan.

The reality is that there is no “perfect” formula. What works for one person does not necessarily work for another. My approach to weight and weight loss is very much a bio-individual philosophy. If, indeed, you are in need of losing some weight, the first thing I would explore with you is a look at how and why you are using food. Is there an emotional eating pattern? Are there certain foods you eat at certain times that keep or put weight on you? Exploring patterns and beginning the process of understanding your own body and what it needs is the first step. As a holistic Health Coach I have been trained in over 100 dietary theories to help you understand your body type and your blood type to better understand which foods work best for your optimum health and weight.

As you begin to understand your body intuitively,  you will begin to understand how, why, and what you need. It is then that you feel satisfied and your weight will hit its set point.

Body acceptance is very much tied into self acceptance, so if you can love your body, you can then feel free to love yourself.
